Lord Of The Grave: Green vapour

12/12/12  ||  gk

“Green vapour” is the 2nd album from this stoner doom duo and it’s some solid stuff. Album opener “Raping zombies” is a 15 minute behemoth of patient sludge riffs and stoned vocals. The band has a real knack for coming up with some excellent grooves. Title song Green vapour starts soft and melodic but soon plunges into a blissfully stoned out groove. Sleep seems to be a big influence on this album with a few nods thrown to Electric Wizard but Lord of the Grave has enough individuality to not seem like clones. There’s absolutely nothing new here but the songs are all good and the band has a confident swagger that’s appealing. Fans of slow and heavy music would do well to check these guys out.

7/10: Solid shit and genre fans should check this band out.
